La Jolla, NOV. – 26 — The first baby born in San Diego who was conceived through a San Diego in Vitro Fertilization program was born yesterday at 5:49 p.m., Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation announced today.
The seven pound, three ounce girl is the child of a 27-year old mother and 28 year old father from Southern California.
The baby was conceived by the In Vitro Fertilization Program at the Fertility Center of Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation.
“We’re all very excited about this baby,” said Jeffrey Rakoff, M.D., director of the Fertility Center and the In Vitro Fertilization Program. “Many people have worked hard and long for this event.”
